Boots and Fishnets, Holidays and Good Times!!!

Fishnet Fridays. Why? Why not....

I hope everyone is having a great time with all of your peoples. :)
I also realize and appreciate how great the internet is in some ways. I love being connected to many great pals, and honestly wish we all had some way to drop in on each other more often. Or at all, for those of you who live waaay overseas! :) Were it not for the nets, I wouldn't have ever met many of you, and would seriously regret that. So, even though we're not physically together, I still wish you all happy times this holiday season. Merry Christmas!!

I had a great Christmas Eve and Christmas. Yesterday's Eve just happened to coincide with #FishnetFriday, and Shannon posted a fantastic pic of her awesome shoes and fishnets, and bizarrely, I was inclined to join her! I know! Unbelievable!! XD Not the best shots, it was dark:

I'm sure it was just the boots that compelled me. I've mentioned them once or twice or seven times, but it doesn't hurt for me to say again how much I LOVE these boots:

I find this amusing, because I'm not a "shoe person". Generally speaking, I don't care about shoes or shoe shopping. I probably see a new pair of regular shoes that interest me maybe once or twice a year. As opposed to the irregular/costumey/designer shoes that I find interesting way more often.
My new boots aren't all that special I guess, but everyone here likes them, and I agree. :D It's the wedge heel and huge buckle that get me.
Anyhoo, I was supposed to wear my fey wings with the rest of this outfit for Christmas Eve, but I couldn't find them, which disappointed. Who knows where those things are! But I wore one of my red miniature roses clipped to my boot and somehow this little bit of fancy made me forget about wings.
I also get a kick out of the fishnets. Again, generally speaking, I'm not a fishnet wearer. I find it more interesting to discover hosiery that just has a really interesting weave/pattern, and I lucked out on a VS sales a few years ago and came away with a whole bunch of hosiery with really cool open weaves! So I may not wear the standard type fishnets too often, I do love the ones I have from VS, so why not play Fishnet Friday sometimes! :)

Even though I enjoyed my Eve here, I wish I'd been able to pop out to Tulsa, Seattle, L.A., NY, Korea and other places to visit pals and fam there. (Why does the teleporter not exist yet?!) Definitely would have crashed STL for awhile. I have friends there that I haven't seen in forever so I definitely need to go, but great timing would have have been Eve, since not only did Jim have a party, he DJed with his bro!

I keep missing Jim's live art events. I was bounced out of L.A. just in time to miss two of his big ones, and it doesn't say anything about him making art at the party, but you never know! :D

I also wonder if they had better snow. I didn't mention the flurries we had here for the past two days. It came down and covered a tiny bit, but promptly disappeared. So disappointing. :(

B
ut enough about things that disappoint, I thought I'd share with you a couple of AWESOME things that I discovered.
Some people who know me, know that I like to cave. Or burrow, or fort, or just crawl into or underneath things and stay there. While I read, write, draw, chat, video game...whatever. Tables, desks, empty refrigerator boxes, whatever. I like it. Who knows why. So you know I love THIS: Cuddly Collapsible Igloo and this! Book Igloo

And for those of us who love costumes, costuming, boots, leather, steampunk-ish, fetishy, or Victoriana type things --or all of these things---take a deep breath, and put your eyeballs on these spats and don't hurt yourself.

Merry Christmas!!
