Random Dancing! (And Random Blogging!)

For you fellow iCarly fans. :D

I think at some point in the future I want to design my own practice and dance space. This would be so amazing! Of course I'm putting in a dance floor, with a DJ/Band space. But also a pole, (as discussed on FB), a barre, a beam, a set of monkey bars, an eagle's nest, and some of those cool huge acrobat's ribbons that hang from the ceiling! (what are those actually called anyway?)

Yeah, it's true I haven't actually used those ribbons before, and it's entirely possible that I may totally frak myself up on those things, but half the fun is just getting there. And I think I will try anything, twice.
Honestly, I haven't killed myself yet. I've never even broken a bone! I may have possibly fractured my coccyx and compacted several of the vertebrae in my neck, but technically nothing broken. But, I do still have on the list of Things To Do to go back to St.Louis, drifting with Charles, sword fighting, and joining the roller derby. Something could always go wrong there. Mike tells me that I don't wanna derby, that I will get every one of my long, bony fingers broken in derby. Thanks, Mike. Boooo. I think I would make a good jammer. And though I know the idea is to stay on your feet/wheels, derby does combine two of my favorite things: skating and tackling.

  1. Fencing, when done right, is low possibility for broken bones. And it's damn sexy. And fun. :D
Ribbons that hang from the ceiling...Spanish web? That's an acrobatic/circus fun thing. Can I come use the space, please???

  2. If Beth does NOT come and use this space, no one else will! :D

Oh, I will fence my ass off! Shinkendo is on the menu too! I met a really cool SCA fighter/martial arts instructor at D*C this year, and we chatted for a little while about fighting of all kinds, and he was full of all sorts of info and tips. I told him I'd been thinking about joining the SCA awhile back, to fight. I want to learn florentine style. Fun. :)

Spanish web, is that what it's called? *googles it*
