Because I was severely disappointed with the original version. Sorry, but I don't jump on the "all US remakes of anything are bad" bandwagon just because it's the cute thing to say. I give no f**ks about who made a film. It's about whether or not I think it reflects what I read, and what I saw in my mind's eye. And this dang 1 min and 39 sec. teaser does that hands down better than anything I saw in the original. I love this teaser. THAT girl is my Lisbeth Salander, and Daniel looks to be a perfect fit for Blomkvist. I'm very happy with this casting. Can't wait to see this, the film looks incredibly beautiful, too. Wow.
