Ah, nightmares...

Pepsi....NaNoWriMo....Rice Krispies...Sleep deprivation...overdosing on the contents of my amazing and sometimes bizarre music playlists...cotton-candy scented sheets...Twitter...

I don't know what combination of any of these things caused it, but from the time I went to bed this morning at 3:50, and got up at 6:45...I had two of the most intense and bizarre nightmares. Two different ones. The terror was sufficiently brutal. "What the hell was that???" were pretty much the first words outta my mouth when I opened my eyes.

Thank you, brain. Just when I knew I needed about 2 hours of solid, uneventful sleep, you decide to dazzle me with your very best.
Little known Rachel Fact: I'm one those people who can repeat or continue dreams. The same dream at different times, but also after waking up, I sometimes have the same one if I go back to sleep, and continue it where it left off. Or wherever it wants to keep going.
I do fine with nightmares, and usually just shake off the fear after waking up. But this morning I woke up and was positive I would not be letting myself go back to sleep. LOL Oh, heeellll noooo, were my thoughts on that one.

After being awake for about ten minutes, I'd already forgotton what it felt like be terrified, but it was pretty spectacular. If I didn't like nightmares, this would be a problem. But I've always found my dreams pretty fascinating, even the scary ones. I marvel at my brain just randomly coming up with such things.

I dunno know what it was up to this morning. I really needed serene sleep, so either my brain totally gave me the finger, OR, like a family pet that proudly brings you the bloody bodies of dead things, it just wanted to show me how much it cared. Who can know!
